Atlanta City Council Member Byron Amos Statement Following the Announcement of Four New MARTA Stations

ATLANTA — District 3 Atlanta City Council member and Transportation Committee chair Byron Amos issued the following statement after the City announced an administrative order to identify four new infill MARTA stations and a corridor for a Bus Rapid Transit line.

"I am thrilled to receive the news of the addition of four MARTA infill stations, a significant stride towards enhancing our city's transportation infrastructure. Among these stations, I am particularly ecstatic that the residents of District 3 will be benefiting from one, the proposed Joseph E. Boone station," said Amos. "As chair of the Transportation Committee, I support this initiative and stand firmly with the mayor in ensuring that transportation remains one of the City of Atlanta's top priorities. This investment improves connectivity and fosters economic growth and community development. Together, let's continue prioritizing progress and accessibility for all citizens."

The administrative order also details the City of Atlanta's strategy to collaborate with MARTA and the Atlanta BeltLine in executing equitable transportation initiatives throughout the city.
