The Finance/Executive Committee of the Atlanta City Council will be hold a Work Session on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. The Work Session will discuss proposed legislation to restructure the General Employees, Police Officers, and Firefighters’ Pension Plans. The legislative item is as follows:

17-O-1589 - AN ORDINANCE BY COUNCILMEMBERS MICHAEL JULIAN, C.T. MARTIN, AND HOWARD SHOOK AS SUBSTITUTED BY FINANCE/EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE TO AMEND THE GOVERNANCE OF THE CITY OF ATLANTA GENERAL EMPLOYEES’ PENSION PLAN, POLICE OFFICERS’ PENSION PLAN AND FIREFIGHTERS’ PENSION PLAN TO CONSOLIDATE AND RESTRUCTURE THEIR RESPECTIVE BOARDS OF TRUSTEES, WITHOUT CHANGING EMPLOYEE PENSION CONTRIBUTIONS OR RETIREMENT BENEFITS, FOR THE PURPOSE OF INCORPORATING INDUSTRY BEST-PRACTICES AND ENHANCING INVESTMENT RETURNS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
