The Atlanta City Council will be hold a Work Session on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. Members of Council have invited the Chief Appraiser of Fulton County to provide greater transparency regarding the most recent property tax valuations, including methodology, assumptions, generally accepted best practices, and information regarding the appeals process. The legislative item is as follows:
17-R-3772 - A RESOLUTION BY COUNCILMEMBERS HOWARD SHOOK, CARLA SMITH, KWANZA HALL, IVORY LEE YOUNG JR., CLETA WINSLOW, ALEX WAN, YOLANDA ADREAN, FELICIA A. MOORE, KEISHA LANCE BOTTOMS, JOYCE SHEPERD, MICHAEL JULIAN BOND, MARY NORWOOD AND ANDRE DICKENS REQUESTING THE CHIEF APPRAISER OF FULTON COUNTY TO APPEAR BEFORE THE ATLANTA CITY COUNCIL TO PROVIDE GREATER TRANSPARENCY REGARDING THE 2017 PROPERTY TAX ASSESSMENTS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
