Thomas Worthy is an attorney and healthcare executive currently serving his first term representing District 7 on the Atlanta City Council. District 7 is known for its diversity and connectivity where unique and vibrant single-family neighborhoods thrive together with a flourishing commercial corridor.

Thomas currently serves as Chief Public Policy Officer at Piedmont Healthcare. In that role, he manages and executes Piedmont's health policy agenda as well as its $900 million+ community benefit program. Prior to his election to City Council, he practiced law at Bradley LLP and held various staff positions in all three branches of government. From 2016 until 2025, Thomas served on the MARTA Board of Directors, where he developed expertise in public transit and other transportation issues. In 2022, when he was Board Chair, MARTA negotiated a new Collective Bargaining Agreement which resulted in the largest pay raise for MARTA employees in the history of the Authority while maintaining a AAA bond rating.

Among his community involvements, Thomas serves on the boards of the YMCA of Metro Atlanta, Odyssey Family Counseling Center, and the Georgia Judicial Nominating Commission. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the American Health Lawyers Association, and the American College of Healthcare Executives.

A native of Carrollton, Worthy earned his undergraduate degree from Washington & Lee University and his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law. He graduated from Leadership Georgia in 2018. Thomas resides in North Buckhead with his wife, Karen, and their three children.
