ATLANTA — Atlanta City Council members Andrea Boone and Michael Julian Bond will present a proclamation to Dr. James K. Bennett during Monday’s Council meeting for his contributions to the community and his many accomplishments in the field of medicine. A reception will be held at City Hall at noon, followed by the proclamation presentation in the Council Chamber at 1 p.m.

“Dr. Bennett is an outstanding physician and leader in the community. He has shown true dedication to improving health outcomes in Atlanta and beyond and deserves recognition for both his professionalism and commitment to helping people live longer, healthier lives,” Boone said.

Dr. Bennett is a Georgia native and world-renowned urologist who has earned awards and recognition from several medical organizations, including the Atlanta Medical Association and the National Medical Association.

“We are very pleased to not only honor Dr. Bennett’s role as a doctor, but to highlight his tremendous work in the community. He treats his practice as a ministry of healing – helping to improve the mind, body and spirit,” Bond said.
