Council Member Cleta Winslow to Hold Back to School Events on August 3

ATLANTA—Council member Cleta Winslow is hosting two back to school events Saturday.

The 2nd annual Back to School Beautification Project will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Centennial Academy, 531 Luckie Street NW.  

“This is an opportunity for me to give back and to show students that community service is important and should be continued throughout our lives,” Winslow said.

Beautification areas include the outdoor learning classroom, school restrooms and front atrium school entry way.

Council member Winslow is also co-sponsoring her 22nd back to school event at Mall West End. She first started sponsoring the event in 1997. The Mall West End Back to School Jamboree will be from noon to 4 p.m. at the Mall West End, 850 Oak Street. Students will receive school supplies and will have the opportunity to participate in a STEM showcase and talent show. Voter registration, free health screenings, career coaching and job placement will also be offered.
