Atlanta City Council Members to Participate in National Night Out Events

 

ATLANTA — Several members of the Atlanta City Council will participate in National Night Out events across Atlanta on Tuesday, Aug. 4. National Night Out is an initiative aimed at fostering relationships between neighborhoods and their local police departments.

Many of the events are slated to include food, games, and public safety demonstrations.

Members of the press who want to cover events are strongly encouraged to RSVP with the Atlanta City Council by clicking here and emailing which stop they would like to cover.

The schedule is below. This list is partial, and more events will be added as they are confirmed:

 

District 12 Councilmember Antonio Lewis

Time: 5 – 8 p.m.

Host/Location: NPU-V/Phoenix III Park, 612 Connally St. SE

 

District 10 Councilmember Andrea L. Boone

Time: 5 - 8 p.m.

Host/Location: Emerald Forest/2775 Emerald Court

 

Time: 6 - 8 p.m.

Host/Location: Collier Heights/2726 Collier Drive  

 

Time: 6 - 9 p.m.

Host/Location: NPU-H/Collier Park, 3691 Collier Drive 

 

About Atlanta City Council

The Atlanta City Council is the chief policy-making body for the City of Atlanta. It acts by considering and enacting all laws that govern the city. The Council also approves the operating and capital budgets for the City as recommended by the mayor, and it continually monitors revenues and expenditures for local government operations.
