Atlanta City Councilmember Andrea L. Boone Joins DPW for FIFA World Cup‑Inspired Beautification Event

WHAT: Department of Public Works District 10 Employee Engagement Beautification Event                     

WHEN: Thursday, May 28, 9 a.m. to noon    

WHERE: Martin Luther King Jr. Drive SW, between Linkwood Road and Lynhurst Drive  
            Parking: C.T. Martin Natatorium and Recreation Center, 3201 Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. SW

BACKGROUND: Councilmember Andrea L. Boone will join the Department of Public Works for a FIFA World Cup inspired Beautification event. Department of Public Works employees and Keep Atlanta Beautiful Commission, along with 75 employee volunteers from Cox Enterprises, Southern Company, and Georgia-Pacific will install pollinator planters along Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive SW.

This beautification effort will not only enhance the neighborhood ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup but also promote community pride and environmental stewardship.

About Atlanta City Council
