Atlanta Councilmember Wayne Martin to Recognize Olajuwon Ajanaku, Founder of Eastside Golf, in Proclamation Ceremony
WHO: District 11 Councilmember Wayne Martin
WHAT: Proclamation ceremony honoring Olajuwon Ajanaku, founder of Eastside Golf
WHEN: Monday, June 1, 2026, 1 p.m.
WHERE: Marvin S. Arrington, Sr. Council Chamber, City Hall, 55 Trinity Avenue, SW
BACKGROUND: Olajuwon Ajanaku co-founded Eastside Golf with Earl A. Cooper in 2019 to introduce youth and non-golfers to the game through a lifestyle brand that connects golf with culture. Since its launch, Eastside Golf has championed diversity in the sport by blending elements of Black culture with golf in its clothing collections.
The company has grown significantly, sponsoring college programs and forming major partnerships with the Atlanta Braves and Mercedes-Benz, USA. Eastside Golf has also invested in the community, donating thousands of dollars to the founders’ alma mater, Morehouse College.
In addition to its apparel, Ajanaku has expanded access to the sport through Eastside Golf Community Golf Days, an initiative designed to reduce barriers to entry and make golf more accessible to the broader community.
