Atlanta City Council President Marci Collier Overstreet named one of state’s “Most Notable Georgians”

ATLANTA — Atlanta City Council President Marci Collier Overstreet has been selected as one of Georgia Trend magazine’s Most Notable Georgians for 2026, a statewide honor recognizing leaders whose influence and service are shaping Georgia’s future.

The honor is outlined in the January issue of Georgia Trend and a recognition luncheon is set for this Thursday. Billed as Georgia Trend’s Most Influential Georgians Luncheon & Awards Ceremony, the publication will also recognize the Georgian of the Year, Hall of Fame Inductees, and The 100 Most Influential Georgians from across the state.

“It is truly an honor to be recognized by Georgia Trend alongside these select individuals who are doing meaningful work across our state,” said Overstreet. “This recognition reflects the collective efforts of my colleagues, our city workforce, and the residents of Atlanta who believe in strong, inclusive, and collaborative, forward-looking leadership.”

The luncheon and awards ceremony will be held Thursday, Jan. 29, 2026, at the Georgia Aquarium in the Oceans Ballroom, 246 Ivan Allen Jr. Blvd., Atlanta, GA 30313. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m., followed by the awards program at noon.

Georgia Trend bills itself as “the magazine of Georgia business, politics and economic development since 1985.” This annual recognition highlights individuals whose leadership and vision have made a measurable impact on Georgia’s civic, economic, and cultural life. Council President Overstreet’s selection underscores her leadership at City Hall and her role in advancing policies that strengthen neighborhoods, promote equity, and guide Atlanta’s continued growth.
