BACKGROUND: Council member Andrea L. Boone is partnering with Morehouse School of Medicine in presenting the institution’s 11th annual Community Engagement Day, “Resilient Together: Building a Stronger Today for a Healthier Tomorrow,” on Saturday, Oct. 4, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the C.T. Martin Natatorium & Recreation Center, 3201 M.L. King Dr., SW. This free public event is hosted by MSM’s Department of Community Health and Preventive Medicine and the Office of Community Engagement. It features free flu vaccines and health screenings including blood pressure, glucose and cholesterol checks provided by MSM’s student-run clinic. There will be more than 100 health and wellness vendors offering resources and services, complimentary food trucks, giveaways and prizes, V103 and WAOK radio personalities, and live entertainment and activities for the entire family.
About Atlanta City Council
