Atlanta City Council Member Carden Wyckoff Statement Following Oath of Service
ATLANTA — District 2 Atlanta City Council member Carden Wyckoff shared the following statement on serving on the District 2 Council Seat after officially taking the Oath of Service on Sept. 16, 2025. City of Atlanta Municipal Court Judge Christopher E. Ward officiated the service.
“I’m honored to be voted by the Atlanta City Council to serve District 2 for the remainder of this current term. As an accessibility advocate, I’m excited to work with the rest of the Council to continue to make Atlanta’s pedestrian walkways, bike lanes, public transit and sidewalks more accessible for all. I’m humbled to play a direct role in the City’s legislation and eager to learn and grow in this role during my time on the Atlanta City Council,” said Council member Wyckoff.
About Atlanta City Council
The Atlanta City Council is the chief policy-making body for the City of Atlanta. It acts by considering and enacting all laws that govern the city. The Council also approves the operating and capital budgets for the City as recommended by the mayor, and it continually monitors revenues and expenditures for local government operations. The Atlanta City Council reviews and decides on many land use and zoning matters. Major economic development projects for the City also fall under the Council’s jurisdiction.
