Atlanta City Council Member Michael Julian Bond Statement on the Passing of Real Estate Developer and Philanthropist Tom Cousins

ATLANTA — Post 1 At-Large Atlanta City Council member Michael Julian Bond released a statement on the passing of Tom Cousins, real estate developer and philanthropist who shaped the modern Atlanta skyline.

“A chapter in Atlanta’s history has closed. Tom Cousins was a great man who greatly contributed to what we now refer to as ‘modern Atlanta.’ He left an indelible mark not only on the skyline, but also on the philanthropic and civic altruism that Atlanta has been known for. A man whose fingerprints are minted on the ‘Atlanta Way.’”

“My deepest condolences are extended to the Cousins family and friends, and all of us in Atlanta who benefited from his life and legacy.”
