Atlanta City Council Member Byron Amos Issues Statement on MARTA CEO Collier Greenwood’s Retirement

ATLANTA — District 3 Atlanta City Council member and Transportation Committee chair Byron Amos released the following statement after MARTA General Manager and CEO Collie Greenwood announced his retirement and departure from the city’s transit authority.

“The City Council’s Transportation Committee would like to thank Collie Greenwood for his service to MARTA, his presence during our committee meetings, and for engaging in discussions with our communities. During MARTA’s transition, I will remain committed to the communities that depend on access to public transportation and continue to work with the City of Atlanta’s leadership, community members, and my colleagues to continue building a transit system that is safe, modern, and reflective of the needs of all communities.”

 

About Atlanta City Council

The Atlanta City Council is the chief policy-making body for the City of Atlanta. It acts by considering and enacting all laws that govern the city. The Council also approves the operating and capital budgets for the City as recommended by the mayor, and it continually monitors revenues and expenditures for local government operations.
