Atlanta City Council Member Antonio Brown Announces People's Uprising Taskforce Members 

ATLANTA — District 3 Council member Antonio Brown announced the members of the People's Uprising Taskforce during an event Thursday, July 2 on the steps of Atlanta City Hall. The group is a partnership between the community, elected officials, influencers, organizers, and activists that works to be responsive and proactive on issues of economic inequality, public safety reform, education reform, criminal justice reform, and civic engagement. The taskforce is a people’s movement focused on policy and action-based programmatic initiatives to dismantle systemic oppression that evoke uprisings.

About Atlanta City Council
The Atlanta City Council is the chief policy-making body for the City of Atlanta. It acts by considering and enacting all laws that govern the City. The council also approves the operating and capital budgets for the City as recommended by the mayor, and it continually monitors revenues and expenditures for local government operations.
