Atlanta’s
Alcohol Technical Advisory Group II public hearing scheduled for October 29
ATLANTA – The City of Atlanta’s Alcohol Technical
Advisory Group (ATAG II) will hold its seventh public input hearing on Monday,
October 29 at 6:30 p.m. in the southwest quadrant of the city to hear from the
public regarding beer, wine, and liquor licensing and enforcement issues.

The committee is composed of 17 members appointed by the mayor, city
council, and community and business groups. The members examine and
recommend changes to the City of Atlanta’s Alcohol Code which deals with the
licensing of establishments that sell beer, wine, and liquor as well as the
enforcement of such laws.
As part of their review, ATAG II is required to conduct at least one
public hearing in each quadrant of the city. The committee is expected to
make final recommendations to the city council by December 2012.
The group was established through legislation introduced by Atlanta City
Councilmember Michael Julian Bond and passed unanimously by the city council.
