COUNCIL
MEMBER NATALYN ARCHIBONG TO CELEBRATE THE GRAND OPENING OF THE WHITEFOORD FAMILY
MEDICAL CENTER
ATLANTA – The Whitefoord Community
Program will be opening the doors of its brand new Family Medical Center this
Thursday, December 13 at 3:00 pm. Council Member Natalyn Archibong, DeKalb
Commissioner Larry Johnson, and the Whitefoord Community Program Board of
Directors & Staff will be on hand for the ribbon cutting ceremony.
The
new medical center is located at 30 Warren Street in the Kirkwood neighborhood.
Whitefoord Community Program, originally established in 1995, has served the
medical needs of thousands of students within the walls of their home schools.
The program currently provides four
school-based health centers located at Whitefoord Elementary School, Sammye E.
Coan Middle School, and Crim Open Campus.
The
new family facility at 30 Warren Street is a milestone for the Whitefoord
Community Program as their client base will now be able to expand to adults as
well as children. This distinction allows the Whitefoord Community Program
to continue as a Federally Qualified Health Center which means continued funding
and improvements for the program.
In
addition to providing pediatric clinics and the new family medical center, the
Whitefoord Community Program is a nationally
accredited Child Development program, and provides Beyond School Hours and
Summer Programs for elementary and middle school students. For more
