Neighborhoods
of Council District 11 Join Observance of National Night Out

ATLANTA
– Residents of Council District 11 will celebrate National Night Out with a
variety of activities and events this afternoon and tonight, from community
gatherings to a prayer vigil to a school supply give-away.
Councilman
Jim Maddox will make his rounds throughout the district to support this
nationwide program aimed at reducing crime, drugs, and violence starting at 4
p.m. at the Adams House located at
2280
Campbellton Road.
Councilman
Maddox will also visit the residents of the Princeton
Lakes Communities off of Camp Creek Parkway at
6:30 p.m. where a school supply give-a-away will be held outside the Princeton
Lake Clubhouse in conjunction with National Night Out. Other visits will include
Westwood with a Vision/Enrichment, Shamrock Gardens Apartment, Centra Villa
Apartments, the Beecher Hills community and the Deerwood Park community.
The
26th Annual National Night Out provides an opportunity for Atlanta to
join forces with thousands of other communities across the country in promoting
cooperative police-community crime prevention efforts.
The
citizens of Atlanta play a vital role in assisting our local police department
through joint crime, drug, and violence prevention efforts throughout our
community. Police-community partnerships, neighborhood safety, awareness,
and cooperation are important themes of the National Night Out program.
