Atlanta City Councilman H. Lamar Willis will host the 10th Annual “Swing Into Spring Youth Tennis Camp”

ATLANTA – Atlanta City Councilman H. Lamar Willis will host the 10th Annual “Swing Into Spring” Youth Tennis Camp on Monday, April 2 through Friday, April 6 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Joseph D. McGhee Tennis Center, located at 820 Beecher Ct. in Southwest Atlanta.

This year 120 students have registered to participate in the free event.  Each student will receive instruction from a USTA certified tennis professional, which will include game fundamentals, physical fitness and sportsmanship.

When asked why he has continued this popular youth tennis camp throughout his City Council career, Willis said, “So often we hear about the negative activities of idle young people during spring and summer breaks.  I wanted to use my position on the Atlanta City Council to provide a positive, productive experience for kids.  I’ve always preferred to be a part of the solution whenever possible.”

Over the course of the camp’s 10 years, over 800 of Atlanta’s youth have been provided with the opportunity to participate in this activity at no cost to their parents.

For more information on the camp contact the Office of Councilman H. Lamar Willis at 404-330-6041.
