Recreation Center Holds Open House
ATLANTA –
The Adamsville Recreation Center, 3201 Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive, will hold
an open house Tuesday, February 21 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.
“This
facility is designed to serve every segment of our community,” said District
10 Councilman C.T. Martin. “Groups from all over Atlanta use the
facility for athletics, senior services, social engagements, computer training,
job connections, and after school programs.”
The
state-of-the-art sports and recreation center recently received a $50,000
grant from Maxwell House Coffee during the company’s national “Drops
of Good” online campaign. Adamsville
was one of 10 local Rebuilding Together Atlanta projects that competed for the
grant money. Funds were used to renovate the facility and to invest in
infrastructure projects at the center.
“The renovations
improved safety measures and made the center more eco-friendly,” Martin said.
