Atlanta City Councilmembers host area clergy on Saturday May 19th

ATLANTA – Councilmembers C.T. Martin (District 10) and H. Lamar Willis (Post 3, At-Large) will again host Atlanta area clergy in "The Spirit of Atlanta," a bi-monthly ecumenical breakfast held to discuss community needs and concerns.

This Saturday, May 19th at 9:00 a.m. it will be held at St. Peter's Church, located at 1558 Venetian Dr   SW. The Willis and Martin will be joined by citywide Councilmember Mary Norwood.

Topics to be addressed include juvenile crime prevention, the proposed 2008 City of Atlanta budget, community and police relations and predatory lending.

This will be the second such meeting that the council representatives have hosted. The first meeting established open and inclusive discourse among community stakeholders that is absolutely crucial to successful and effective governance.

The spiritual leaders agreed to schedule future bimonthly meetings to allow pastors to continue to voice their opinions and provide insight on the community issues.

All faiths are encouraged and welcome to participate.
