Office of the Municipal Clerk
Timeline to Conduct a City of Atlanta Special Election
To Be Held September 17, 2019

NOTE:  Outlined is a timeline to conduct a City of Atlanta Special Election on September 17, 2019 and October 15, 2019 to fill the vacancy and unexpired term of Board of Education Seat 2.  So as to not disenfranchise any candidate nor registered voter, the detailed timeline captures various aspects required by state law to conduct an election. Mindful of the multiple factions which need to work in concert to conduct a successful election beyond the Atlanta City Council authority are the Fulton County Board of Registration and Election, the state approved ballot builder, Fulton County Board of Commissioners and Superior Court. Although citizen representation is priority one all aspects must be considered to adequately achieve a successful election.
