Katie
Powell Howard
Katie grew up in the
Virginia
Highlands
area of
Atlanta
and graduated from
Grady
High School
. After graduation she
attended
Furman
University
where she received her B.A. in Political Science and Urban Studies.
After college, Katie moved back to
Atlanta
and began her career as the assistant to the Clerk of the
Atlanta
City
Council. After working for
Fulton
County
Commissioner Robb Pitts, Katie returned to
Atlanta
City
Council in 2004. Katie
and her husband David, a Wake Forrest (B.A.) and
Georgia
State
(M.B.A./M.H.A.) educated CPA who works for Cherry Bekaert and
Holland
. They reside in Grant Park.
Elizabeth
Egan Henry
Elizabeth
grew
up in
Augusta
,
Georgia
and graduated from Georgia Tech in 2002 (B.S. History, Technology and
Society). While attending
Georgia Tech,
Elizabeth
interned with District 8, and upon graduation crossed over Peachtree to
work for
Atlanta
City
Councilmember Howard Shook in District 7.
After teaching fourth grade at Trinity School,
Elizabeth
returned to City Council in September 2007.
She is currently working on her Ph.D. in history at
Georgia
State
University
and continues to coach Georgia Tech’s Freshmen Women’s Crew.
