“Yesterday, the Council voted by majority to move forward with redevelopment of the Gulch as proposed by the CIM Group,” says Council President Moore.

She further stated, “I encourage the committees of purview to begin now, devising a strategy for monitoring the progress of the development along with its adherence to the requirements as stated within the agreements.  Thank you to the public for your engagement around this issue and your patience throughout the process.  I would also like to commend the Council for its commitment to vetting this proposal by asking many tough questions. We can now look forward to refocusing our efforts toward solving other issues critical to the quality of life in the City of Atlanta.”

After listening to extensive comments from the public, followed by hours of deliberation, the Atlanta City Council voted to approve four legislative items related to the Gulch project.  The following pieces of legislation were approved:

Ordinance: 18-O-1476 (on substitute as amended) by a vote of 8-6;

Ordinance: 18-O-1480 by a vote of 8-6;

Ordinance: 18-O-1484 by a vote of 14-0; and

Ordinance: 18-O-1485 by a vote of 13-1.
