Atlanta City Councilmember Joyce Sheperd Presents Healthy Pets Atlanta

ATLANTA—District 12 Atlanta City Councilmember Joyce M. Sheperd will host “Healthy Pets Atlanta,” a free pet-care event open to all Atlanta residents on Saturday, Sept. 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Perkerson Park Ball Fields (770 Deckner Avenue SW).

Held in partnership with LifeLine Animal Project, The Atlanta Humane Society, and Fulton County Animal Control, the event offers free services to cats and dogs including routine checkups, vaccinations, microchipping, pet food, leashes, vouchers for spaying/neutering, pet education and licensing. Supplies are limited, and participants are asked to bring dogs on a leash and cats safely contained in a carrier.

“‘Healthy Pets Atlanta’ is an event I’ve hosted for many years,” stated Council Member Sheperd. “The goal is to educate residents on the importance of taking care of their pets and educating the community on laws around animal care. This is more critical than ever in light of the unfortunate incidents of animal attacks that have occurred in our community recently.”

For more information, contact the office of Councilmember Joyce M. Sheperd at (404) 330-6053 or jmsheperd@atlantaga.gov. You may also learn more by contacting LifeLine Animal Project at community@lifelineanimal.org.
