City Councilmember Ivory Lee Young Attends the At-Promise Youth and Community Center Ribbon Cutting & Grand Opening Ceremony

ATLANTA – District 3 Atlanta City Councilmember Ivory Lee Young, Jr., in partnership with the Atlanta Police Foundation, will celebrate the grand opening of the At-Promise Youth and Community Center for youth and community residents on Atlanta’s Westside.

The ribbon cutting festivities will take place at 4 p.m. (today), Tuesday August 1. The center is located at 740 Cameron Madison Alexander Boulevard.

The At-Promise Youth and Community Center will be a state-of-the-art learning and community facility with specialized services for youth and a gathering place for residents, group activities and other purposes. Located in historic English Avenue, the At-Promise Center is an opportunity to participate in the revitalization efforts of this community. This center is the cornerstone of the Atlanta Police Foundation’s youth crime reduction initiative. This facility will serve up to 150 youth per year, with specialized programming for youth and young adults ages 12 to 24 who reside on Atlanta’s Westside.

“This facility is a great example of the community forming partnerships with private donors and the Police Foundation to produce a center aimed at at-risk youth on the Westside of Atlanta,” Councilmember Young said.

The Atlanta Police Foundation envisions a city where juveniles are embraced and provided with positive opportunities throughout the City of Atlanta; a place where young people view police and public institutions as partners; and have full access to an excellent education, premier health and social services and a community untroubled by violence.
