City of Atlanta Municipal Election and Campaign Briefing Scheduled for Friday, July 21

ATLANTA – The City of Atlanta's Municipal Clerk/ Election Superintendent will host an Election and Campaign Briefing at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, July 21, 2017 in the Council Chamber of Atlanta City Hall, 55 Trinity Avenue S.W.

Potential candidates and interested citizens will have an opportunity to direct questions to representatives from invited agencies and departments upon the conclusion of all presentations.

Multi-jurisdictional representatives having election related responsibilities or impact will be present, including representatives from the Georgia Secretary of State, the Georgia Government Transparency and Campaign Finance Commission,  the Fulton County Registration and Elections Department, the DeKalb County Registration and Elections Department, Atlanta Public Schools, and the City of Atlanta's Office of Municipal Clerk, Office of the Solicitor, Ethics Office, Department of Public Works, and Department of Police. These representatives will serve as panelists providing brief presentations that impart the agency's or department's role in the election process.    

The City of Atlanta’s Municipal General Election will be held on November 7, 2017 to fill the offices of Mayor, City Council President, City Council Members, and Board of Education Members; and to retain Municipal Court Judges.

Candidates shall qualify to fill the aforementioned offices at Atlanta City Hall, 55 Trinity Avenue S.W. 30303, Second Floor, Council Chamber, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday August 22, 2017, Wednesday August 23, 2017, Thursday August 24, 2017 and Friday, August 25, 2017.
