ATLANTA – The Atlanta City Council approved a resolution during its regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, March 2 requesting the City of Atlanta’s aviation general manager to monitor and notify necessary people to determine reasons why the name “Jackson” is often omitted, not used, or overlooked when using the name of the airport, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

ATLANTA – In honor of the 50th anniversary of the Voting Rights Movement and the passage of the Voting Rights Act of 1965, the City of Atlanta will host a commendation ceremony and send-off rally at noon in the City Hall Atrium followed by a proclamation presentation to the Selma Jubilee Committee during the 1:00 p.m. Atlanta City Council meeting.

Atlanta City Council unanimously approves equal pay for equal work legislation  
ATLANTA – The Atlanta City Council approved legislation to ensure all women employees of the City of Atlanta receive equal pay for equal work. The legislation was introduced by Atlanta City Councilmember Keisha Lance Bottoms.
