ATLANTA – In observance of Independence Day, Atlanta City Hall will be closed on Friday, July 3, 2015 and reopen at 8:15 a.m. on Monday, July 6.
Atlanta City Council Dedicates $4M to Atlanta BeltLine Reserve Fund
ATLANTA – As part of its vote to approve the City of Atlanta’s Fiscal Year 2016 budget on June 24, the Atlanta City Council dedicated $4 million to a new reserve fund for eventual settlement of the Atlanta Public Schools/Atlanta BeltLine dispute. The reserve fund, created through legislation sponsored by Councilmember Kwanza Hall, was approved by a vote of 14-1.

ATLANTA – The Atlanta City Council will convene at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2014 to consider and adopt the City of Atlanta’s Fiscal Year 2016 Budget.
Atlanta Churches in District 5 Hold Prayer Vigils for Victims of Charleston Massacre
ATLANTA – Big Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church and St. Philip African Methodist Episcopal Church will both hold prayer vigils to remember lives lost Wednesday, June 17 during a bible study session at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, South Carolina. Nine people were killed in the mass shooting at the historically black church.
